Under the general direction of the VP of PR, you will be responsible for providing strategic assistance of media relations across clients. Your primary focus will be to develop newsworthy media campaigns and secure consistent targeted media coverage on our clients behalf. As a PR Manager, you will also be responsible for ensuring that all client public relations and marketing activities are completed in the context and spirit of Collins + Co.

principal accountabilities

- Work across the Collins + Co. team and clients to ensure media relations strategies are built out, followed and updated consistently

- Participate in oversight of C+Co.’s key industries with a focus on travel, tourism and hospitality by leading the following activities: identifying and pitching new business, owning client relationships and managing other team members/direct reports supporting such clients  

- Develop high impact and innovative pitches and campaigns with strategic social media integration

- Collaborate and confidently communicate with team leadership to set expectations regarding project timelines and deliverables

- Identify and lead newsjacking activity with consistent outreach to team members regarding new pitch ideas

- Create and execute pitches and editorial calendar opportunities outlined in clients’ strategic plans

- Manage and source new media connections

requirements

- 3-5 years public relations experience, preferably with a background in the travel, hospitality and tourism industries

- Proven track record creating successful and game changing PR campaigns from concept to completion

- Established media relationships from national, regional and trade publications are a plus; continued cultivation of media relationships is expected 

- Customer focused with client-centric mindset

- Ability to thrive, be nimble and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
